November athletes of the month announced

BRANDON, MB – It was a busy month for the Brandon University Bobcats, but now that November is in the books BU Athletics is pleased to announce a pair of awards.
MEAGHAN ROBERTSON is the winner of the Pantages on Park Female Athlete of the Month for November. Robertson had an outstanding month that included eight conference matches in which she registered a hitting percentage of .340 and 90 kills. Robertson’s stellar play was highlighted by impressive performances against Trinity Western on November 11 (.652 hitting percentage, 16 kills) and against the Calgary Dinos on November 19 (.484 hitting percentage, 19 kills).
Robertson, a graduate of Brandon’s Crocus Plains Secondary School, is in just her second season as a Bobcat. In her rookie campaign last year she was named to the CIS all-rookie team, leading the team in hitting percentage (.240) and blocks (51).
The Bobcats women’s volleyball team is coming off an impressive weekend in which they won two road matches against the University of Regina.
Robertson and the rest of the women’s volleyball team will look to extend their winning streak this weekend as they host the 0-8 Saskatchewan Huskies at home this weekend.
EMERICK RAVIER exploded on the scene in Brandon, earning Tip Top Tailors Male Athlete of the Month honours for November. Ravier put up 31 points in his first regular season game, leading the Bobcats to an 82-75 win over the Calgary Dinos. Since then, the Ottawa product has averaged 17.1 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and 2.3 assists per game, all while logging over 30 minutes per game.
This is Ravier’s first season in Brandon after transferring from Ottawa University where he spent last season as a red-shirt. Prior to that he played for La Cité collégiale in Ottawa.
Ravier and the men’s basketball team are coming off a B.C. road trip in which they won against the UBCO Heat Saturday and dropped Friday’s game to the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack.
Ravier and the Bobcats will now enjoy the Christmas break before taking part in the Winnipeg Wesmen Classic December 28-30.
