
BRANDON, MB – The Brandon Bobcats and Winnipeg Wesmen battled back and forth in a see-saw affair that saw the Bobcats come away with a 70-56 win. There wee nine lead changes, but the Bobcats ran away with it thanks to a dominant third quarter in which they out-score the Wesmen 21-10.
Two Bobcats finished with double-doubles and one finished one rebound shy of a double-double. Donovan Gayle led the way for the Bobcats with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Ali Mounir-Benabdelhak put up 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jordan Reaves finished 11 points and nine boards.
Mark McNee had a game-high 17 points for the Wesmen, while Dominique Brown picked up a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
With the win the Bobcats improve to 5-6 while the Wesmen fall to 2-8. The two teams will meet again Friday night in the second half of the weekend series in Winnipeg.
