BRANDON, MB – Despite a strong third quarter from the Brandon Bobcats, the Winnipeg Wesmen were able to come away with a 63-47 win Thursday night.

Led by Alyssa Grant’s game-high 14 points, the Wesmen stormed out of the gates starting the game on an 18-2 run. The Bobcats hung around however, starting the second half on an 11-2 run.

Jaynell Gillett had a team-high 13 points for the Bobcats, while rookie forward Aimee Johnston continues to impress, finishing with 10 points and seven rebounds.

The win moves Winnipeg to 6-5 on the season, while the loss drops the Bobcats to 0-11. The two teams will meet again Friday night in the second-half of the weekend series at the University of Winnipeg’s Duckworth Centre.
