WINNIPEG – Winnipeg needed a win and on this night they got one. The Wesmen won a thrilling 66-61 decision over the Brandon University Bobcats Friday evening at the Duckworth Centre in Winnipeg.

The Wesmen put an end to a six-game regular season win-less streak and improved their record to 3-9. With the loss Brandon falls to 5-7.

Mark McNee led Winnipeg with 17 points and four steals. Andrew Cunningham finished with a double-double 12 points and a game high 14 rebounds. Dominique Brown and Travis Krahn each had 11 points.

The Bobcats were led by Donovan Gayle’s game high 20 points. Michael Smith added 16. Jordan Reaves and Ali Mounir led the team in rebounds with 10 each.

Winnipeg will welcome Victoria next Friday and UBC on Saturday. Brandon will play Trinity Western and Fraser Valley.
