BRANDON, MB – The Fraser Valley Cascades bounced back with a 65-30 win over the Brandon Bobcats, following a tough loss Friday. The Cascades jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a 16-1 run to start the game, and didn’t look back after that.
Courtney Bartel and Celeste Dyck both finished with 15 points, thanks in large part to Bartel’s 7-10 shooting from the floor. Kayli Marion-Sartori had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Aimee Johnston had a team-high eight points for the Bobcats and a game-high 12 rebounds. Rookie guard Kaela Cranston picked up 10 boards and three steals in 37 minutes.
The win improves the Cascades record to 10-4 while the Bobcats remain winless at 0-14.
Up next for the Bobcats is a weekend road trip to Saskatoon to play the #4 Saskatchewan Huskies. The Cascades will host the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday and the UBC Thunderbirds Saturday.
