
KAMLOOPS, BC – The Thompson Rivers completed the weekend series sweep over the visiting Brandon Bobcats thanks to a 3-1 (25-17, 31-29, 16-25, 25-20) win Saturday night. The Bobcats had a more effective attack, but were unable to defend as well as the Wolfpack. The ‘Cats hit 22% per cent as a team to the ‘Pack’s 19% per cent, but Brandon had 10 service errors and serve reception errors to Thompson Rivers’ five service errors and six serve reception errors.
Anne Weiss and Kelly Asleson both led the match with 15 kills for Thompson Rivers. Sarah Petterson had a match-high 14 digs, while Weiss and Amanda Frayne both finished with 13 digs.
Victoria Dakin and Jaryn Ruether led the charge for the Bobcats from the left-side, both finishing with 14 kills. Chloe Reimer finished the contest with a team-high 10 digs.
The loss drops the Bobcats’ record to 8-8, while Thompson Rivers improves to 6-10. The Bobcats will have a bye next weekend, seeing their next action February 3 on the road at UBC.
