BRANDON, MB – Despite a fourth-quarter surge by the Bobcats, the Regina Cougars took a 83-74 win in Brandon Saturday night. The Bobcats out-scored the Cougars 27-20 in the fourth, but Regina retained the lead through-out the second half before putting it away.
Jared Janotta finished with a double-double, notching a game-high 22 points and adding 12 rebounds. Paul Gareau added 21 points for the Cougars.
Fifth-year forward Donovan Gayle had a double-double as well, including a game-high 14 rebounds to go with 12 points. Jordan Reaves had a team-high 21 points for the Bobcats.
With the win the Cougars improve to 3-6 while the Bobcats drop to 4-6. The Bobcats will host the Winnipeg Wesmen next Thursday while the Cougars will travel to Winnipeg to play the Manitoba Bisons next Friday.
