CALGARY – The Bobcats needed a win to keep their season alive, and that’s exactly what the Bobcats did. Facing elimination in the Canada West quarterfinal, the Bobcats came away with a 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-23) win Saturday night, forcing a deciding and final match Sunday in the best of three series.
The Bobcats lost Friday night despite a solid effort. Saturday night the Bobcats led in all three sets, and despite a late surge in the second, it was all Brandon. In his fifth and final year as a ‘Cat, Jon Sloane was on fire, putting up 12 kills on 15 swings with only one error, hitting .733 on the match. Ben Glue also put up 12 kills.
Calgary middle Graham Vigrass had a solid effort for the Dinos, notching 15 kills.
Game three is set for 3:00 pm CT Sunday afternoon at the Jack Simpson Gym at the University of Calgary. The match can be seen live at www.canadawest.tv.
