BRANDON, MB – In a rematch of last year’s CIS national final, the Trinity Western Spartans Brandon Bobcats met again. It was a different location, but the result was similar as the Spartans came away with a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-22, 25-20).
Rudy Verhoeff came out blazing in the first two sets, putting up 10 kills on just 16 swings before sitting the third set. The Spartans were efficient as a team, converting on 35.6% per cent of total attacks. The Spartans also beat the Bobcats in the team blocks category 13-2.
Ben Glue continued his hot streak for the Bobcats, putting up 17 kills, while Jon Sloane contributed 11 kills.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow at 7:45 pm at the BU Gymnasium.
