BRANDON, MB – Despite jumping to an early 15-5 lead, the Brandon Bobcats couldn’t hang on down the stretch as the Manitoba Bisons made it two in a row with a 53-37 win.
The two teams exchanged leads between the first and second quarter, with the Bisons taking a slim 25-23 lead into the half. After a quiet third the Bisons ran away thanks to a 21-7 fourth quarter.
Bobcats rookie forward Aimee Johnston continued her impressive rookie campaign finishing with a game-high 17 points.
Lauren Mortier led the charge for the herd, finishing with 14 points and eight rebounds. Vanessa De Vries had a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds).
Up next for the Bisons is a game with city-rival Winnipeg Wesmen next Friday. The Bobcats will travel west for a weekend swing-trip against the Thompson Rivers Wolfpack and UBCO Heat.
