BRANDON, MB – Despite a solid effort from all the Bobcats, a last second buzzer-beater wouldn’t fall causing the Bobcats to drop their first pre-season game of the year to the Lakehead Thunderwolves 72-71.
Fifth-year Bobcat Donovan Gayle led the way for Brandon with 19 points and a pair of highlight-reel assists. Ali-Mounir Benadbelhak added 14 points and had nine rebounds and team captain Kyle Vince had 10 points.
Venzal Russell had a game-high 23 points for the Thunderwolves.
The two teams will meet again Saturday at 7:30 pm in the BU Gymnasium.
