
WINNIPEG, MB – The second half of the weekend series between the Brandon Bobcats and Manitoba Bisons saw three close sets, resulting in the Bisons coming away with a 3-0 win (25-21, 25-22, 25-16).
“I think that this weekend we showed that we are coming together as a team,” said Becky Young, who filled in as head coach for this weekend’s contests. “We still have a lot of work to do, but as a team we did a lot of good things.”
Jaryn Ruether and Meaghan Robertson led the offensive attack for the ‘Cats, finishing with 10 kills a piece. In just her second CIS match, Jenna Poole finished the match with a team-high 22 assists. Chloe Reimer finished with a match-high 15 digs.
The win improves the Bisons record to 2-0, while the Bobcats fall to 0-2. Up next for the Bobcats is a pair of contests against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on November 3 & 4. Friday’s match against the Wesmen will be the Bobcats’ home opener.
